TICKETS ON SALE NOW FOR DANCES FOR A NEW WORLD: PART TWO
Join us for the premiere of GHDT’s production of DANCES FOR A NEW WORLD: PART TWO.
Saturday, February 13th at 7:30 pm
Executive Artistic Director Gregory Hancock created works for the GHDT 23rd performance season with the constantly evolving world in mind. “The productions have been created in parts and each designed to reflect the current times,” says Mr. Hancock. Dances for a New World: Part One – Part Three are each comprised of multiple stories told through creative theatrical art experiences. “Part Two reflects innate human condition as our world changes and the spiritual battle lies within us,” Mr. Hancock adds. “The arts are a powerful tool that foster human connection and awaken human emotions. Our journey continues with Part Two of new dance works that are coupled with powerful and eclectic music ranging from avant-garde to classical.”
After an affirming and awe-inspiring response from audiences of Dances for a New World: Part One in October, Mr. Hancock began work on creating Part Two. Originally scheduled for performances in January at The Tarkington, Dances for a New World: Part Two had to be moved to a virtual performance. “Creating dance for film is a uniquely different process from a typical stage performance. This was an exciting new adventure for the dancers and me,” says Mr. Hancock. “We are thrilled to bring our patrons new works in a new medium. We know they will enjoy it.” GHDT was delighted to work with Chris Lingner, a professional dancer and videographer, to produce this film.
Just like our live performances, tickets for this virtual performance need to be purchased in advance on-line via the ticket links below. The premiere of our performance is ONLY viewable on FEBRUARY 13th at 7:30 pm.
